.... For how other people set up.

Today, while out getting lunch, I happened to see a video crew set up in the corner of the food court. I walked past on my way to buy lunch and made a mental note of how they set up everything.

I have an indoor event coming up that I will be photographing and every time I have an event I always consider how I might shoot it.

In the 4/3 lens lineup the zoom lenses are very fast but mayby not quite fast enough. I am considering picking up a Sigma 30mm f1.4 prime to use.

As luck would have it, I have been able to borrow one of these lenses for a few days and Have been putting it thru the paces to see if it is for me.

Well of course I am talking about your Camera.

I had a little incident today that would have a totally different outcome if I had NOT had my Camera with me today. Fortunately, I picked it up on my way out the door and a single photo may in fact be the most valuable photo I take all year.

Well, Today I spent an afternoon at the Footy - I went to watch Norths and Sturt Play at Prospect Oval.  I packed a Camera, all my Flash cards and choose my longest lens and my new 1.4x Tele-converter.

The motivation for going is that the local weekly newspaper is running a photographic competition during the SANFL season - with a weekly prize and a final prize at the end of the Year. Not only was it an afternnon out at the Footy, but If I managed to get a decent photo I would submit it. (More)

At some stage most photographers have a go at a creative Self Portrait. Well, It was not something that was really on my to-do list, but as it was this Months challenge over at 4/3 Photo I decided to jump right in and at have a go. (More)

I found out a bit over a week ago that a group of 14 Cyclists were about to commence a ride from Adelaide to Melbourne over 8 days. The event would see the participants cycle over 1100Km in a bit over a week.

I further found out that 4 of the riders and 1 of the support crew are people who work for the same company as me. So, I got in touch with one of them and offered a bit of support.

A few Days ago, when I got a new CF card it came with a free version of Capture One LE Raw Workflow software.

Well, now I have had a chance to have a bit of a look at it and evaluate how it compares to my current workflow and software.

When I was out shopping Today I spotted a Large CF card at a Price that was unheard of a few months ago. Knowing that you can never have too many cards, I decided to grab it while it was on special. (More)

I was away from the City this weekend in the Riverlands and as the day was ending I noticed what I thought might just make a dramatic sunset picture.

So, I grabbed the Camera and looked at what was on offer and waited.

Last weekend I did a photoshoot for my Brother. He runs a Martial Arts School with his wife and they were wanting some photos that they could use for various purposes. They wanted some photo's that they could use on their website and also in printed material that could "storyboard" a Class and show a bit about some of the sorts of activites that are done. (More)

Last weekend we went into town to try and catch a bit of the international Police and firemans Games. The dragon boat racing was on the river and while enjoying the spectacle took a heap of photos. (More)

While out and about today, I had my camera with me as usual. I spotted something that I thought had a fir bit of potential to make some interesting photos from.  (More)

Well, now I have 3 zoom lenses that I use that cover a large range I decided to examine what each lens could do in a little more detail.

Using each lens, I took a series of photos of the same subject. I set each lens to the focal length that is marked on them and aimed at the same spot and tokk the images.

When I walked in the other day, I saw something sitting on the kitchen bench that I thought would make a great subject to explore. I spotted on a plate the last of the Tomato's from the garden.

A plate full of rich, red tomatos seemed like something that I could have a go at shooting, so I just needed to set up somewhere to get the most out of it.

Well, I finally caved in and purchased the 11-22mm Wide angle Lens. I have been contemplating getting it for a little while and finally took the plunge.

I wanted it in order to do a shoot that I have coming up in about 5 weeks time and just knew that I should spend a bit of time getting to know it and how to use it.
